GACC - Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves - Transition to Clean Cooking

Last updated: 26/06/2018
IATI Identifier: GB-1-203036

Description

Our support will contribute to the Global Alliance’s goal to catalyse a global market for clean cookstoves that will see 100 million homes adopt clean and efficient cooking stoves and fuels by 2020; and our active engagement will help influence the partnership and encourage a solid, evidence-based approach. Specifically, DFID’s 18 months contribution will trigger an initial package of priority research on: the business models, social marketing and consumer finance that could deliver clean stoves at scale; and a step change in the understanding of the health (indoor air pollution) and climate change impacts of clean cookstoves. The second phase of the programme allows GACC to expand their research portfolio and continue to deliver the high quality research outputs needed to build the evidence base for continued investment in the sector.
