2019 Humanitarian Needs - UK contribution uplift
Description
To provide time-critical life-saving humanitarian assistance through the Central Emergency Response Fund - CERF - that can rapidly release finance to tackle imminent, worsening or underfunded crises. UN appeals have identified 149m people in need across 58 affected countries, as compared with 136m people across 41 affected countries in 2018. As at early-November the 2019 Global UN Appeal - $26.75bn - is 35.5% funded, compared to 42% funded this time last year
