Description

To support reform of the UN development system so that it offers greater value for money, works as ‘One UN’, has a more targeted approach, is better aligned to the UN Charter across the system, and has stronger leadership. To achieve this through the provision of voluntary core funding to the Special Purpose Trust Fund (SPTF), managed by the UN Development Coordination Office (DCO). This provides flexible resource to: Manage the Resident Coordinator (RC) System, through both guiding UN Resident Coordinators (RCs) and UN Country Teams (UNCTs), and shaping and supporting policy, programming and operations in country. Progress UN Reforms to ensure that the UNDS provides an effective, efficient and accountable response to the needs and priorities of the host country and people.
