Description

UK EMERGENCY HUMANITARIAN RESPONSE TO THE NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT. FCDO’s humanitarian objectives for this initial allocation are: 1) to save lives and prevent suffering via humanitarian support to national authorities and international partners. 2) to maximise impact, promote UK leadership in support of the affected Government-led humanitarian efforts. 3)supporting our strategic goal in Azerbaijan and Armenia to de-escalate tension and agree a sustainable peace agreement. 4)supporting an enhanced international presence inside Nagorno-Karabakh to contribute to monitoring. 5)to show solidarity with Armenia’s democratic, reformist government and illustrate the value of partnerships with the UK and the wider West at a time where domestic feeling in response to events is intense.
