Middle East Peace Process
Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF)The programme is designed to contribute towards delivery of the three overall objectives: (1) To help the Palestinian Authority develop governance structures, which underpin effective security, promote prosperity and ensure inclusion of Palestinian society. This will be delivered through professionalisation and institution capacity building work with both the Palestinian Authority Security Forces and the Ministry of Interior, including compliance with international human rights laws. (2) To pursue the political conditions which support progress towards resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This will be delivered through projects which are aimed to maintain support for the peace process in the absence of formal negotiations. (3) To preserve the viability of the two-state solution, mitigate the impact of the occupation, protect the most vulnerable Palestinians and address causes of the conflict. This will be delivered through legal aid and services programmes in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. This is an ODA and non-ODA blended programme. Lebanon Security Programme
Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF)This programme is addressing three key strands of overlapping security threats in Lebanon. The programme supports (1) the establishment and deployment of Land Border Regiments of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) to monitor and interdict illegal cross border activity along the northern and eastern border between Lebanon and Syria. (2) Training Lebanese troops deployed at key confessional flashpoints at the Lebanese Armed Forces Internal Security Training Centre. (3) The work on countering violent extremism is addressing threats emerging from vulnerable communities by de-conflicting these communities and de-radicalising those at risk. Supporting community-level mediation of ethno-religious tensions in the Eastern Province. North East Nigeria Security and Conflict and Stabilisation Programme
Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF)This programme aims to respond to interrelated issues in the northeast of Nigeria. Conflict Management and Stabilisation will contribute to preventing further conflict and promote reconciliation. It will do this through, Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) by strengthening government and civil society led efforts to address key grievances and promote effective CVE messages. Supporting stabilisation efforts by strengthening government and community cooperation to re-build trust in governments’ ability to provide basic services, and increasing opportunities for youth. Preparing for reintegration processes of the displaced population (as well as former fighters and their victims, including victims of sexual violence). This is an ODA and non-ODA blended programme.
