To improve the lives of the Afghan people by providing financial support to improve the Government of Afghanistan’s capability to implement development projects and reforms. This will benefit people in all provinces of Afghanistan by improving access to basic services, infrastructure, governance and community representation. This contributes to MDGs 1-5 through a range of interventions, and will remain the main mechanism for coordinated donor support to Afghanistan for many years to come.

To support the Palestinian Authority (PA) to meet the needs of the Palestinian people. Funding will enable around 25,000 young Palestinians with access to an education, provide up to 3,700 immunisations for children, and 185,000 medical consultations each year. This will help to build and strengthen the capacity of PA institutions through public financial management reform, and build stability in the region by preserving the two state solution.
To provide a government led effective health system that will deliver improved access to quality health services across six states in South Sudan with a specific focus on reducing maternal and child mortality.
The programme works with government and civil society at federal and state levels to reduce inefficiency and corruption in the use of Nigerian resources and therefore improve delivery of services, including for women, girls and persons with disability. It does this in partnership with other DFID programmes supporting service delivery by helping Nigerian stakeholders improve accountability for use of resources including improving processes for raising revenue, allocating resources, planning and programme implementation.
To improve the health of women, children, the poor and socially excluded in Nepal, including by restoring health services in areas affected by the 2015 earthquake, and improving the quality and governance of health services nationwide.
To improve access to education for children whose education has been disrupted by the war in Syria. This will ensure that every child in Jordan, including Syrian refugees, will be in education for the 2016/17 school year, with 50,000 eligible children enrolled into school immediately. The programe will support the Jordan Compact education goals to provide a safe, inclusive and tolerant environment with psychosocial support available to refugee children. .
This project will deliver on the economic priorities of the Federal Government of Somalia by supporting the World Bank’s Multi Partner Fund (MPF) to: 1. build more effective and efficient public institutions through support to Public Financial Management and Public Sector Management and 2. to improve the business enabling environment by building critical infrastructure, supporting the development of key sectors, helping create jobs and improving access to finance and training, with a focus on women and girls.
To support the provision of public services to meet the reasonable assistance needs of the people of Montserrat, including health, education and securing air and sea access, given that Montserrat is not yet self-sufficient. This is in line with the 2012 Overseas Territories White Paper and consistent with relevant elements of UK’s Aid Strategy and DFID’s 2015-2020 Single Departmental Plan.
The Sub-National Governance programme (SNG) is DFID Pakistan’s flagship programme supporting public financial management, planning and local government reform in the provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). It is a £38.1 million, 5 year programme from April 2013 to 2018. It works in 12 districts, 6 in each province [Buner, Haripur, Nowshera, Dera Ismail Khan, Karak and Lakki Marwat in KP & Hafizabad, Mandi Bahuddin, Sheikhupura, Bahawalnagar, Sahiwal, and Vehari in Punjab]. This programme focuses on consolidating and embedding key reforms and building the capacity of government systems to take evidence-based decisions and improve health and education outcomes.
